Thanks for sending this book as part of a bookray! This was on my wishlist! I have 100 pages to read in the book I'm currently and then will start immediately!

What a sad, moving tale. While at first I was horrified by the love affair between a young adolescence and an adult, I came to realize that it was necessary for the tale to progress the way it did. It was interesting to see an event of the holocaust through the eyes of various individuals, an infatuated lover, a survivor, and various others. It was also interesting to see the way that the events of the narrators life played out as a result of the infatuation with his older lover. Towards the end, I wondered if his teenage infatuation became true love and why it is that he loved her. Was it because he pitied her or because he admired her strength and willingness to overcome what held to dependence for so long. I will be recommending this book to anyone that has not read it and I look forward to the release of the movie on DVD to see another person's interpretation of the story.

I will pass this book on to the next person in the bookring. Thanks to Maxs-Mom for granting a wishlist read and sharing this wonderful story with me.
