Who Moved My Blackberry? (Martin Lukes)

and the unfortunate people in and around his world. This compulsively readable, hilarious story is told through their email messages. It’s The Office meets Bridget Jones in a novel set in a company so dysfunctional, it’s bound to strike a chord with any nine-to-fiver.
Author Lucy Kellaway has taken the character she first introduced in the pages of the Financial Times and created a story that will have you in fits of laughter and nodding your head in recognition.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I was absolutely certain that this was an extremely well-written work of fiction. Then I got to the end and read 'Martin Lukes thanks his family and children'. I really wondered if this was for real or not... I'm still not all that sure!
What an absolute wanker Martin is! A great read. I loved that it was written in email entry format, and found myself wanting to slap Martin repeatedly throughout the read! A refreshing change to read for me after some very heavy reads recently! It had me laughing so hard! Strive & Thrive!!!!!
Taking with me to the April Melbourne BCers brunch meet up at the new OBCZ Cafe Benissimo tomorrow to pass onto to Wodfest, who is the 1st participant in this Bookring. I hope it is enjoyed by all who are taking part, and I look forward to reading everyone's reviews.
I might read this once second as it sounds like I might need it after the other one.
Thanks J4Shaw!
I finished this on Saturday but thought I would leave it a day or so (until I needed to post it) before I made a journal entry because I wasn't certain how I felt about it.
I'm afraid this was a bit too close to the real world and I couldn't have enough of a sense of humour to forgive Martin for how he treats ALL of the people around him.
I really laughed at the beginning but as the awful actions of Martin built up I found myself getting increasingly irritated.
Yes I know it's fiction but like the best fiction it's really well grounded in the real world.
Have already wrapped it in plain white wrapping so that it won’t be noticed here at work – someone might flick through and recognise themself. (After all they have given out copies of “Who Moved My Cheese” before).
oh dear.
Off to Germany.
Edit June, 22th: I'm in the middle of the book right now. So far I like it.

Thank you for the RING and for sending the book...
I like the fact that Martin is completely clueless about other people's perspectives and feelings and still thinks he's not selfish. Also, I liked Pandora's life-coaching skills - a whole lot of rubbish in return for a lot of money. This book gives the reader a great insight into the corporate world and how you can rise in ranks by merely coming up with big words nobody understands. I particularly liked Martin's creovative energies and the fact that we never find out what he actually does, or what company he actually works in...
I contacted JudeK a few times and haven't had a response, so I'll contact NancyNova now...

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Update: 7 Sep 10 - Just finished this one. What an interesting book, never read anything organized quite this same way before. I hope to have this on its way to the next reader in the next week or so. I'll make release notes at that time.
I enjoyed this book but perhaps not as much as UI was expecting, given the blurb and other reviews I had read about it.
Martin really is a complete moron, I couldn't imagine having to work with someone like him!
Thanks J4shaw for sharing this book - will be heading back to you shortly.
