This book was read during my 40 Hour Read-A-Thon.

Moved to act by news footage of the war, conservationist Lawrence Anthony heads for Iraq to rescue the animals of Baghdad Zoo.
It is truly amazing the work this man and his team did to save the lives of so many animals, risking their own lives to do so.
While this book shows what the ravages of war does to both humans and animals the triumph of people that care is very uplifting.

Jay/discoverylover has said she'd like to read this next so will pass it on to her tomorrow evening when I see her before she flies to the US.

Alkaline-kiwi gave me this one before I headed off to the USA for summer camp, and I read it while at camp. This book was one of those ones you can't put down, it was totally heart wrenching, and made my unit late for a few things because I had to finish the chapter!

Highly recommended... thanks A-K!
