(Book I: Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter)
When i first started reading the Anita Blake series I had started with the second book... So I had to go back and read this first one when i was able to find a copy. I just fell in-love with this series...
From the Publisher
My name is Anita Blake. Vampires call me The Executioner. What I call them isn't repeatable.
Ever since the Supreme Court granted the undead equal rights, most people think vampires are just ordinary folks with fangs. I know better. I've seen their victims. I carry the scars...
But now a serial killer is murdering vampires -- and the most powerful bloodsucker in town wants me to find the killer...
Currently part of a Book Spiral...

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Arrived safe and sound today. I'm looking forward to read this!
Read the last pages of this book on the plane on my way south to Eastern Norway on Thursday morning. I'm here on a mini break. :-)
It was an enjoyable read, I found it to be quite funny. I will not say it's horribly well written (writing errors like writing "then" instead of "than" gets on my nerves), but it was good entertainment.
Will PM nikel27 so that I can have hir address and pass the book on!

Happy reading!
This book arrived today, just minutes ago! Looking forward to reading it.
No, I didn't like this book. I've tried several times - put it away, started reading it again, put it away etc. Now I've given up on it. Sorry!
I'm sending it on to 24-7-365Reader. I hope she likes it better!
arrived yesterday, 1 in front of it, thanks for sharing
Firstly thanks for sharing, but I couldn't get in to this book at all, it was ok, until I reached a certain point then it lost me (can't say when, wouldn't want to spoil it for others), it seems to have some positive reviews and I hope the next person enjoys it more.
That's the best thing about book crossing, you get to try new books and authors, sometimes you like them and sometimes you don't, thanks again for sharing :)
Reserved for the next person
Just received through the post and has been waiting for me for quite a while as I've been on holiday! I shall read this as soon as I can and pass it on!
I have received tonnes of bookrings/rays, and I'm getting through them pretty quickly. I started this book yesterday, so I should finish this in a few days (I hope). I sooooo busy with 6th form (college) with homework and everything, but I am reading it, so if I take a little longer than expected, I'm sorry!
Finally finished it. I'm sorry for putting my college books before this book. What I mean is, is that I was half-way through this book before I got homework saying that I must finish 2 REALLY boring books in a week. It took me 3 weeks, therefore I'm very much behind on my reading, however I shall try my best to keep up and I cannot wait for the sequel of this book!
This was a brilliant story and kept me to the edge of my bed and I couldn't stop reading at times. The only problem I had with this sotry is that the chapters are small (I presume that's a recurring theme in all of Laurell K. Hamilton's books) but this sort of made me stop at each chapter, as if it was a good place to stop, even when I had enough time to read a few more chapters! But the story line was great, and that's why I gave this book a rating of 10/10. I just want to know where Anita goes next and whether or not the next book lives up to this one!
I shall be sending this off to the next person in line on wednesday!

Arrived safely and I will read it as soon as I can, Thanks for sharing!
This book is next on my TBR pile so I will be reading it very VERY soon, sorry for the delay! I took the postcards out for safekeeping and of course have misplaced them so I shall be doing a full-house search for those as well. So so so so sorry! Also, did a little repair-work on the corners of the cover. Spine was already taped so now they match.
I'm reading this book now, will send it along soon! Sorry for the little stall-out here.
Also: it seems when I went away for a weekend a family member read this book and put a couple dog ears in it. I am so so sorry about that! They didn't want to move my bookmark so they folded the pages down.
"The smell of pine-scented Lysol was thick and almost nauseating in the small, dark hallway. You could probably have eaten off the carpeting if you had wanted to, but you would have gotten fuzzies in your mouth. No amount of Lysol would get rid of carpet fuzzies."
I LOLed for realsies when I read that paragraph.
I enjoyed this book, but only in small doses. There was just SO MUCH going on it was a lot to process. I had to put Anita down after only a couple chapters every time I read it (they're short chapters) because the action never slowed down. While a snoozer is no fun, no downtime is also a bit overwhelming and off-putting in a book. I hope the author catches into a groove and later books are still full of fun but not quite so much all thrown together wham bam pow. I'm not asking for useless filler fluff because it wouldn't suit the vampire and ghouls and monsters and such, but this isn't something to read before bed if you're hoping to turn your brain off for the night.

Book is being packed up now to mail off to the next person in the spiral later this week. Happy reading!
Received today - have heard a lot about the Anita Blake series, looking forward to finally finding out what the hype is all about :)
I hate to say it, but I just could not get into this book. I really like vampire books, but this one didn't do it for me. I didn't find the characters all that interesting, and I was really put off when I got to the ratman/wererat scene (seriously, do I care about how big this thing's thing is? puke).
Maybe the problem is that I've been hearing about the famous Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series for so long, and it was hyped up so much -- that it just fell short of my expectations. I thought it would be a racy, sexy, thrilling story, but I didn't find it to be so.
Oh well, at least I tried :) That's one of the great things about Bookcrossing -- trying new authors, new genres, and more. Thanks for letting me join! I've PM'd the next in line for her addy.

Book is on its way to Crossing-Guard in Canada....
This book is now back in Calgary :) I have a couple books ahead of this (why do bookrings always come in multiples) but I will get to this as soon as I can.
Thanks for sharing this book. I agree with other readers that the action never ceased and therefore it was a lot to process. I'm interested to see where this goes from here. Thanks so much for sharing.
