From the inside cover: Set on the East End of Long Island, "The Worst Thing I've Done" is an incadescent story of love, friendship, and marriage; of joy and betrayal; of an artist's struggle to reconnect with her work; and of how we can choose our mothers, our families.
Beautiffully written and brilliantly vivid, it explores the resilience in the protagonists' lives, and their courage to move forward despite an uncertain future.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book as I've enjoyed two others by Ms Hegi. Now available for trade or release.

Annie drives at night listening to talk radio psychologists. She does this, I believe, to help her find answers and sort out her own life complications. I won’t give away too much plot but Annie, Jake and Mason have been friends as long as they can remember and have a tight bond. The night of Annie and Mason's wedding, her parents are killed in a car accident leaving her baby sister, Opal. The three decide to raise Opal together. Of course, there is much more to this story and the entangled triangle becomes strained and the story unfolds with many surprises.
I enjoyed reading this story very much. While parts of it read along the lines of a soap opera, I am certain if condensed many of our lives would as well. The author writes beautifully and I was instantly hooked. I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next straight through to the last page. I think if you pick up this book, you will enjoy the story tucked inside.

I thank spuddossis for sharing this with me! I’m looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.
