A retired school teacher in the town where she has always lived, Eleanor at the age of sixty-nine, finds the sudden presence of Abel Brown in her life unnerving and unsettling - and after a time irresistible.

Abel shakes up her fixed ideas of who she is and starts her wanting something she never imagined for herself. Amid many complications, Eleanor and Abel proceed on the fractious course of their courtship...

I found this book in the Forget-me-not-Trust charity Shop in Brighouse and bought it as it sounded interesting and i wanted something light to read on a journey. I enjoyed the book very much. I am in the same age group as Eleanor and Abel and i found love myself just over 18 months ago. My partner lives in Portugal and i now stay with him for much of the year. I work in a charity shop in the Algarve and i am donating the book to the shop, and lets see were it goes next.
Happy traveller
