Journal Entry 1 by ShyAnn from Oakdale, California USA on Wednesday, May 21, 2003
For Genevieve Terrence it seemed like a dream come true: a weekend alone on Maui with her sexy boss, Nick Brogan. But little did she know that Nick had dreams of his own--a nefarious scheme that nearly got her killed on the flight over the Pacific. Lucky for her, brilliant computer programmer Jack Farley was on board and quick-witted enough to crash-land the plane. Now Jack is her sole companion on a remote desert island with nothing but guava trees and sharks for company. Who’d expect the shy genius--and the least alpha male she knows--to turn out to be the uninhibited stud of her wildest dreams?

Saving Genevieve’s life has made Jack a hero in the eyes of the woman he has secretly lusted after for months. Now they’re alone together in a tropical eden where they’re free to give in to their every sensual whim. But when some nasty unfinished business puts them at risk again, Gen will learn there’s nothing quite as dangerous as a fully aroused ex-nerd who’ll move heaven and earth to protect the woman he loves…

Happy Reading !!!

3. Read the book, within 30 days, and make a journal entry to tell us what you have thought about the book. You can be as brief or as lengthy as you wish with your thoughts about the book.

Too funny!
Loved the dialect in this one - makes me wonder if the author is from 'down South'.
Enjoyable romance - quick read.

This will be going out in next Saturday's mail (1/10) to Tyressia.
Thanks ShyAnn!

The book arrived safely this afternoon. :) I'll journal again once I've read it, and then it will continue its travels!

I spent the last couple of weeks trying to get into this book, and in the end, I had to give up. :( I hated the heroine (who seemed to me a perfect example of TSTL - too stupid to live), and the hero was much too infatuated with her for me to like him. Hey genious? How about daydreaming about someone who *isn't* dumb enough to think that sleeping with a guy will make him fall in love with her?

Okay, so maybe I'm being harsh, I just couldn't resist the urge to throw the book across the room. I managed to get half way, before giving into that urge. (Don't worry - the book suffered no permanent damage, and it will be able to continue it's journey). ;)

Will PM arugh48187 for an address, and I'll ship out the book as soon as I can.

Well, this one was a quick, brainless read. I can't say I enjoyed it thoroughly. The storyline was extremely predictable and the characters very stereotypical. The author tried to make it not seem trite, but did not succeed.

This one will go out to the next reader on Monday. Sorry for keeping it so long and thanks for sharing.

Released on Monday, June 14, 2004 at Post Office at 153rd and Garrett in Apple Valley, Minnesota Controlled Releases.

Mailed off to mellion108. Happy Reading!

Thanks for sharing this one, ShyAnn, and thanks for sending it my way, arugh48187. I picked this one up at my PO Box yesterday on my way to work. I had a car accident on Thursday and am still pretty shaken by it (no humans were hurt; just lots of car damage and impending insurance and legal hassles). This is the perfect no-brainer type of book that I need for a weekend during which I refuse to get behind the wheel of another car. ;-)

I've already read about 220 pages of this, so I'm nearly finished. I'll save most of my comments for when I finish, but this certainly isn't the type of book Gloria Steinem would promote, is it? *grin*

Journal Entry 15 by mellion108 from Waterford, Michigan USA on Tuesday, July 6, 2004
I finished this one on Sunday and mailed it to maddymonkey today. Enjoy!

This book did exactly what I needed it to do: It provided some mindless, fluffy distraction from life for a few hours. It's perfect as a lazy summer afternoon read.

However....I had to keep repeating to myself, "It's only a story. Don't take it so seriously." Genevieve and Annabelle? Who on earth talks like that outside of bad television sitcoms??? I grew up in Tennessee. I have a number of "back woods" relatives who live back in the "hollers". One of my aunts chews tobacco and keeps a possum for a pet (I would not lie). None of them talk like these characters. I don't know if the author is from the south or if she just decided that everyone who is must talk in endless euphamisms like those used on "The Beverly Hillbillies." That along with the we-can-rut-like-bunnies-here-but-can't-have-a-relationship-at-home philosophy made my brain hurt.

But then I just took a deep swig of my nice chilly beverage and kept on reading. Again, it's a light, quick read, and I found it entertaining enough to stick with it. Oh, and the sex scenes surely do steam up the afternoon! I felt like I was 15 again as I giggled at the naughty bits. ;-)

Thanks for sharing ShyAnn!

Into the queue. Looking forward to it.

This book reminded me of exactly why my friends and I used to go to White Drug in the mall as teens to read only the sex parts in romance novels...because the story? Yeah, not so much with the story.

Thanks for sharing, though, and it was posted to hathyia in Malaysia yesterday.
