The book had alternate chapters with first Ruby telling the story and then Jack. I enjoyed the book even though there wasn't much action. Just the day to day life of a tenant farmer and his wife.

Well, I finally got around to reading this book. I did enjoy the story. About the life of tenent farmers as told by Ruby and Jack in alternate chapters. About bad marriage and then a good marriage with the loss of one partner and the missing of ones love. A thoughtful story.

I haven't heard anything about this book, but I pulled it from an ABC bookbox, and remembered the author from a previous book. I really like that I am taking the chance on this book and it is another excellent find in that box!!
