Hardback book

I have two copies of this book, so I am making this one into a ray.

The Grey sisters have always been close. After their mother's death, the girls banded together, becoming best friends. Their stern, disapproving father cares less about his children than about his reputation. To Henry Grey, appearances are everything, and years later, he still demands that his daughters reflect his standing in the community.
Winona, the oldest, needs her father's approval most of all. An overweight bookwork who never felt at home on the sprawling horse ranch that has been in her family for three generations, she kows that she doesn't have the qualities her father values. But as the best lawyer in town, she's determined to someday find a way to prove her worth to him.
Aurora, the middle sister, is the family peacemaker. She brokers every dispute and tries to keep them all happy, even as she hides her own secret pain.
Vivi Ann is the undisputed star of the family. A stunning beautiful dreamer with a heart as big as the ocean in front of her house, she is adored by all who know her. Everything comes easily for Vivi Ann, until a stranger comes to town...
In a matter of moments, everything will change. The Grey sisters will be pitted against one another inways that none could have imagined. Loyalties will be tested and secrets revealed, and a terrible, shocking crime will shatter both their family and their beloved town.
With breathtaking pace and penetrating emotional insight. True Colors is an unforgettable novel about sisters, rivalry, forgiveness, redemption--and ultimately, what it means to be a family.

I loved this story. Kristen Hannah has never let me down. I shed some tears, that's for sure. Family drama is one of my favorite genres, and this book sure touched it all. A great read!!! Fast-paced and hard to put down. I liked that the book was written in two parts, moving the story ahead a decade. Telling Noah's feelings through a written English assignment gives the reader a great insight into what he is going through, too.

I am waiting for the next participant's address so I can move this book along.

Thank you flossie771 for sharing this book!!!

I didn't feel that this was as good as most of Hannah's books. It took me longer to get into it but as the story evolved, it held my interest more. I liked the journal entries that Noah made.
Thank you Flossie for including me in the bookray. The book is now off to Mallary in France.

I just couldn't put this down!
What a wonderful story, I love books about complex families and this one was as complex as they come! What a great kid Noah turned out to be, I loved his journal he had to write (and carried on writing) but I won't spoil the story by saying too much. I shed a tear when they realised Renegade was silently waiting...

So a big thank you for including me in the ring and to kayjay33 for mailing it to me!
Pming PaulsBooks now....

The Grey sisters stick together through thick and thin until Luke returns to town and Dallas is hired to work at the family stables. As a strain is put on the sisterly relationships the bonds between them crack. It takes time and forgiveness to heal the wounds and for Winona, Aurora, and Vivi Ann have a deeper understanding of each other.

Hi there! I received this book last night, 10/07/09. I have half a book, a book club book, and then a very short book ring book before I can get to this one. I promise I won't be too long with it though! Thank you for including me! :) This will be my first Kristin Hannah book. I have a couple of friends that have highly recommended Firefly Lane to me.

Journal Entry 23 by kerbam1421 from Halethorpe, Maryland USA on Wednesday, October 21, 2009
Hi all - just an update. I started reading this yesterday, 10/20/09.

Journal Entry 24 by kerbam1421 from Halethorpe, Maryland USA on Tuesday, October 27, 2009
I finished this last night, 10/26/09.

I felt this book was a little slow to start, but in the end I enjoyed it. I think I started to get into once all the action with Dallas started happening. The author really got the whole sister dynamic. Sisters; you love them, you hate them, they'll always be there in the end.

MarilynD has her own copy, so this will be sent out to Kayellbee by the weekend.

Thank you for including me in this ring!

This arrived in the snowy Alps safely - thanks so much for sending! It looks like I'm at the end of this ray, so as I have a snowdrift of work to do and another ring or two in front of it, I will give myself the leisure of saving this for up-coming holidays before offering it to travel further. If I am mistaken, please do let me know and I'll put it on the "read ASAP" pile! So far I've read one other Kristin Hannah book which I really liked, so I'm looking forward to this one!

Journal Entry 30 by wingpenelopewanderswing from Saint-Loup-des Vignes, Centre France on Sunday, January 17, 2010
So not the end of the ray after all...
My second by this author, and again I really enjoyed her writing. Scanning the reviews I don't see much mention of prejudice, which I think is one of the major themes of this book. Family, rivalry, as well, of course, but the deep-seated prejudice underpins the whole plot. I found the characters all quite believable with their weaknesses, strengths, insights and blindnesses. Very moving story.
I'm PMing the next in line and will send out as soon as I get the address. Thanks for making this available.
