"Second hand books are wild books, homeless books; they have come together in vast flocks of variegated feather, and have a charm which the domesticated volumes of the library lack." --Virginia Woolf

I wanted to like this book so much more. There was glimmers of promise to it, but for me it just didn't achieve it's full potential. I found the main characters to be unrealistic and annoying, though the periphial characters were quite interesting. Maybe another reader will get a better reaction to it!

"A book is a mysterious object, I said, and once it floats out into the world, anything can happen. All kinds of mischief can be caused, and there's not a damned thing you can do about it. For better or worse, it's completely out of your control."

Part of a lovely RABCK bookbox sent to me by princess-peapod while I am visiting family here in the Boston area.

This is a book which I have never heard of but which looks interesting. My sister is eagerly eyeing it over my shoulder but I have told her she has to read it while I'm visiting :)

Oh I just read what princess-peapod thought of it...I'll give it a try though, and tell you what I think.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

This was one of the things I had brought with me to read on my trip back home; I didn't quite get into it fully so I skipped around a little to see how it ended. It's one of those books I thought that I would enjoy more than I actually did. But as I was finished I left it on a round bench opposite a souvenir/bookstore on the lower level of departures at JFK. I hope someone finds it and journals it. It was interesting as I was early for my flight I went back a couple of times to see if anyone had adopted it, but it seemed to have gone unnoticed. Let's see!
I've just noticed that I seem to have a trend of releasing in airports. :)
