I finally finished this book during the past weekend. It took me a surprisingly long time to read, considering it is such a short book. Must admit that I have mixed feelings about the book. On the one hand the writing is very atmospheric and evocative, with beautiful descriptions of the Norwegian countryside. On the other hand I felt very little connection to the characters and their stories. This is strange because recently my friend and I had a conversation about whether not liking the characters is sufficient reason to say that you didn't like a particular book. We both say "no", but in this book it really was a problem for me. The characters just felt very distant. Anyway, I'm glad I had the chance to read it.

I'm sorry, I just couldn't get into this. I have been reading slowly, due to other commitments, as a result of which I lost the plot and couldn't get back into the various time switches. So sorry about that. I will post again as soon as it is on its way to Lucy Lemon.

Ooh, I absolutely loved this book! It arrived at my parent's house I think on Thursday, and I read it all yesterday. I thought it was wonderful, and for once it definitely deserved all the hype. I will definitely be looking out for my own copy :-)
