This was waiting for me under the Christmas tree, wrapped carefully by my husband. I really enjoyed reading about Dewey Readmore Books and the little community where he lived. It was a lovely read, and it made me think about how wonderful my cats have been through the years.

My daughter has asked to read this, but she has several books in her room waiting to be read. In the meantime, I'm going to offer this as a bookring.

What a wonderful story! Being a school librarian and a cat lover, I connected to this book is many ways. Dewey was a very special cat and the town of Spencer was fortunate to have experienced his love.

I actually finished this book early last week and sent a pm to the next person in line. I have sent a second message to her as I did not get a response to the first.

Edited later in the day:
I now have the next participant's address and will mail the book out later this week.

The book arrived today and I was so excited I had to start reading it right away. Spencer kinda sounds like my hometown....wish we had had a cat at the town library when I was a kid. Will journal again when done.

My apologies for the delay -- I've been on vacation and am just arriving back home tonight!

This was a fantastic book. I'd wanted to read it for some time, and I'm so glad I had the chance. Dewey is just so wholly personable (cat-able?), and Vicki's telling of her story and his story, intertwined, makes for fascinating and smooth reading. Thanks so much for sharing this book with us, Bluestocking88!

I'll be PMing MaryZee directly after journalling this and will have it on its way shortly! Thanks again! :)

I loved this book, which is not only the story of a wonderful cat but also the story of a small town and the people who make it what it is. My younger sister attended college in Iowa and has a real soft spot for the state, which I never understood fully (we're born & bred New Englanders.) After reading this book I feel like I have a better sense of what she means.

Dewey clearly touched the lives of many people, and his story (as told by Vicki Myron, who has a homey and comfortable 'voice') touched my heart as well.

Thanks, MaryZee, for including those great links! And thank you, Blue, for sharing this book. I'll be sending it along to the UK as soon as I have an address.

I haven't even started reading it and it looks like I'm going to be buying more copies!

That's what I thought when I got it. Today I picked it up at 8am, it's now 13.30 and I've read it.
I'd love to be able to buy it for my family as I had intended but unfortunately it's too good and too poignant and too much what we're going through at the moment.
I can love it, remember it and treasure it and I will be buying one copy just for me.
Beautifully written even down to a picture of Iowa in my head skilfully drawn to start the book.
The touches on the lives of this cat and others in the book are tear jerking but that may just be my own situation curently.
Thank you for sharing!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

I'm not the biggest cat person but I wanted to read this book because I work in a library. It's amazing to see how a cat touched not only the library staff but connected to the town. This was a fun, heartwarming book to read. Dewey Readmore Books! What a cat! I'll recommend it to my coworkers.

Sending Dewey back home! Thanks for sharing.

Look who I found in my mailbox this afternoon! Thank you everyone for moving Dewey along--he's going upstairs to make friends with my daughter--and then? Who knows. . .
