Finally got around to reading this one - sorry it took so long! I have some other books from the 1001-library that I also plan on reading soon.
Well, I wasn't sure I would enjoy this one when I started reading it but I found it to be a delight! I believe this is the first in Wodehouse's series of books about Jeeves and Bertie Wooster. It was great fun and I actually laughed out loud a few times. It was typical British humor from the 1930s and reminded me of some of the movie comedies from that era. I think Carey Grant would have been a great Bertie in a movie version. Actually, I saw on the internet that David Niven did play Wooster in a version of Jeeves; however, the storyline was changed completely from the book - much to Wodehouse's disapproval. The book did contain some racial stereotyping and actually included the "N" word but not in a bad way. This was also typical of the era. Overall, I would give this one a high recommendation - I'll need to find more of the Jeeves novels.
This is now ready to go back on the 1001-library shelf and is available for other readers.

Sending to tabby-cat-owner who selected this from the 1001 VBB. Enjoy!
This book is back in my hands again. Thank you, perryfran, for mailing it to me.
I recently picked up a copy of this book at a thrift store, so this book can go back on the 1001-library bookshelf.

Thank you so much, tabby-cat-owner, for sharing this book and sending it to Europe!
Will be interesting to see, if I like this book: earlier attempts to read two other books by Wodehouse (Dutch editions) were not so succesful. But, since it is on the 1001-list, I at least have to try.
Will get back to you after I've read it :-)

Liked this book very much. Silly, funny, English. More than enough to keep me reading and have a good laugh from time to time.
