8 out of 10

Having jumped a few books in this series, I was pleased to see that the main character, Kinsey Millhone, has developed into a nicer character, not quite so tough and abrasive, a little more vulnerable and thoughtful.
This is a trade for "D is for Deadbeat" and is off to visit Special-K in Australia, who is in no rush, so I'll probably send it by surface mail. It depends which cost bracket the postage falls into. Enjoy

H just arrived from bluenoser. I've got a few ray and ring books to read first but this will definitely be going close to the top of my TBR pile now that I've finished G. Thanks for the swap :-)

Thanks so much for passing this one on to me Special-K. It is going to be included in the Grafton Alphabet Bookray List, set up through the BCAUS Aussie BookCrossers Yahoo group.
I am looking forward to my next Kinsey fix!!

Kinsey putting herself on the line again, in the most dangerous way this time I think! I am sure she could have left this situation for the experts, especially when they didn't come through with their side of the deal!! Or figured it out from much further away.

Not so much mystery this time, and not as fast paced as previous volumes - and no interactions with the fellow cast of these books that we have come to like.

Not my favourite of the Grafton series, but I guess even Kinsey is entitled to a slow week at work (although, yes, if I had a week equivalent to her's in this book, I think I would be committed!!).

This volume will be starting it's travels on the BCAUS Grafton Ray, when I pass it on at the Melb Meet Up on Tuesday.

Another quick Grafton read, enjoyable but I agree with Hawkette that not much seems to happen, in regards to no real mention of other characters we know from previous books. It was all about Kinsey but her in danger, yet again, but this time b/c it was in LA it was only about her and the baddies! Maybe Grafton took time with this book and the rest will be back on track with excitement and development of the other characters we have come to know!

21/12: Off to Fushmush in this evenings mail! Express post so that she has it before christmas!

wow, I feel special! This was express posted to me so it would arrive before the Christmas break. I have -lots- of holiday reading now... I hope I don't receive any more bookrays in the next couple of days.

Thanks Tramgirl for going the extra mile! She's such a dedicated BookCrosser!

Not a murder mystery this time, but an expose into the seedy world of insurance fraud. After reading the reviews here and amazon, I expected to be disappointed. I guess my low expectations helped as I quite enjoyed this novel. I think it was a perfect read for my holiday at the beach.

Seedy characters, car crashes, car chases, hot and heavy fumbling on the backseat... what more could you ask for!

Who else had picked the "surprise" (re: Luis) that happens at the end? I had!

Oh wow! I've been hanging out for this book! This is the one where Kinsey solves a mystery after many twists and turns and finds people playing fast and loose with the truth, mostly her. I've read A-G already and some of the later ones and this is one of the last in the odyssey and oh, how I've been anxiously awaiting this!

Received with many thanks to Skyring who keeps sending me unexpected books, much to my husband's chagrin, and my delight. :-) It's a long way down on the pile, but I promise it will not be forgotten.

I really enjoyed this installment in the Alphabet series. It was great following Kinsey through all the twists and turns of this case, and I was definitely taken by surprise at the end.

Luckaye is next on the list so I'll hang on to this until I've finished a few more, and then send them all together.

Edit 1st August, 2005: Posted to luckaye today.

A bit of a different story in that you don't have the usual cast featured in the story. Still, a good book to curl up with and read when you areen't feeling 100% (darn colds!)
Will send on when I have read the next couple - probably next week.

Not one of her best in my opinion, there wasn't much sleuthing to be done just staying alive was her mission. Will be passing it on to next on list on Sunday at Meetup

Another interesting Grafton read. She knows how to tell a story and thankfully she had been consistently good all the way to P :)

Thanks to those before me on this ring and enjoy to those who come after.
