SYNOPSIS:
"Here are the Goldmans: Jacob, reared in London's East End, and now an eminent professor of philosophy, and Jane, an acid-tongued earth-mother who rocked her aristocratic family by going off to live with Jacob in bohemian squalor. We enter their ebullient, untidy world through Katherine, a student of Jacob's who falls in love with the oldest Goldman child. When the affair ends badly, Katherine flees to Rome, determined to put them all behind her. But she returns, ten years later, seasoned and more knowing, to discover that their lives are inextricably bound, that old wounds do heal, and that life goes forward in all its deep and satisfying bounty."
Read a long time ago. Looking at the synopsis now I feel like re-reading it but it is reserved for a friend who loves books, as an introduction to Bookcrossing. I know that he will appreciate it.
