Journal Entry 1 by swan-scot from Inverness, Scotland United Kingdom on Monday, February 16, 2009

The Lovely Bones is one of those books I pick up and do not want to put down again until finished. But not necessarliy because it is wonderful, but more because I was searching for that something that made it so great - according to all the hype. I found it to be less dark and depressing than I expected, but I know I was guilty of rapid reading the first chapter which describes the rape and murder, so maybe this explains my reaction. I found the descriptions of heaven 'strange', not from a religious sense, but maybe because it was different from the stereotype. Overall, a good - if not great - book with an unusual starting point and narrative. Released at the Egerton bascule Bridge, Birkenhead, near Liverpool, England, I logged on to a pc here in the library in Liverpool and was delighted to see the book had reported in even before I had a chance to make release notes. I had thought no one else would be walking around down by the old bridge. Update: More photos of our trip to Liverpool and Chester here.

Journal Entry 2 by Craigos from Birkenhead, Merseyside United Kingdom on Sunday, March 15, 2009

Never even heard of Book Crossing before, but I was out and about on the Twelve Quays, Birkenhead taking some photographs when I saw this little character sitting on a bench in its waterproofs. Really looking forward to getting to know my new book better, and when I'm finished I promise I'll set it free again.
