I can't say I enjoyed this book exactly as it was very bleak and desperate in many ways, but it offered an interesting glimpse into a world and into a region that I know very little about. Now I'd like to know whether these kinds communities really exist in Colombia.

This is part of a large stache of books left in the staff room of the Avila Centre of English by soffitta1 a couple of years ago. Many teachers have read many of them, but I think it's time for them to move on.
