Purchased from Barnes and Noble in Kennewick, Washington, USA in Feb. 2009.

I hadn't read this since I was a little girl so I really enjoyed going through it again. It was a quick and easy read. I didn't enjoy the last 30 pages or so as well since Colin kept going off about the Magic. I also didn't like the weird chanting part...but, overall, it was a good story! I am keeping this on my Permanent Collection shelf and hope that someday soon my kids will read and enjoy it as well.

The extent of my ignorance and naiveté of just 6 short years ago is laughable. The journal entry above makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time as I obviously did not understand the story at. all.

The kids and I read through this very slowly over the last year and cried at the end! What a beautiful story of redemption, the power of love, reconciliation---and yes, "magic". How I could not have seen that just 6 years ago blows my mind---but also gives me hope that there's a whole life ahead of me to learn and grow in maturity and wisdom.
