The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum (Penguin Classics)
8 journalers for this copy...
Found this in a charity shop in Stratford upon Avon, and had to buy it (along with several others!) despite the fact that I then had to lug around a bag of books all day. I was drawn to the cover initially, and then remembered vaguely seeing it on the 1001 book list.
Finally got round to reading it last night, and I don't know yet whether I liked it or not really. It's a bit of a strange novel, and the way in which the plot is presented is very distancing I thought. Still, I liked it a lot more than I usually like the 1001 books!
Sending out on a bookring with the following order (so far, it may change if more people join the ring):
Jozebedee - UK (UK)
WigglyWoods - UK (Intl)
Caroley - UK (Intl)
EmgeeNL - NL (EU)
jellyfish67 - UK (Intl?)
perryfran - US (Intl)
cat207 - Australia (Australia pref)

Arrived safely in the post - put at the top of the TBR pile!
CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Quite a refreshing book - I like the style of writing, and the mysterious undertones of not really knowing everything that had gone on, but being told the established facts only. A good read.
Sending off now to WigglyWoods.

I thought this a very unusual book - I can see why it's on the list because of the writing style which is very factual to counteract the fairy stories of the newspaper reports. Thanks for the opportunity to read this book Lucy, I am posting on to Caroley.

Have just started Vineland, which is quite chunky, but will then start on the three rings that arrived today.

This was an excellent read. I loved the way the story was told with the contrast between the factual reporting and the news stories.
Thanks for sharing this one Lucy. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I have EmgeeNLs address and will post on asap.

Arrived safely yesterday.
Hello, now on it's way to next reader.
Finally received this one in the mail today. Looks like I signed up for this over 4 years ago. Will get it read and passed on. Thanks!
For some reason, I couldn't really get into this one. Maybe the writing style or maybe just my mood. Anyway, I will be passing this on to Cat207.

Arrived in today's mail - thanks perryfran. Hopefully I'll get to it before too long.
I did quite like the writing style of this one. A lot of fairly innocent people destroyed by the media. Freedom of the press!
It would appear that lucy-lemon has not been active on Bookcrossing for a couple of years, and has not responded to my PMs, so to keep the book circulating with Bookcrossers I'll reserve it for Round 7 of the Aussie 1001 books VBB.
