A book about three Iranian sisters living and running a restaurant in a small Irish village. The story has promising elements and brings up some serious topics about prejudice, judgement, having to leave your home, cultural differences and so on but it doesn't deliver. Some of the topics are just left hanging mid-air almost like the author didn't know what she wanted to say. And the silly romance with mansion and all was absolutely unnecessary.

A bit difficult to get into this book at first but then it got more interesting and I rather enjoyed it.
I do agree with saarahoo that some of the topics were left hanging and I was wondering why she brought some of this up in the first place??

Oh, thank you! This must be a lovely book and I suppose I'll start to read it tonight! And I know who'll get it next!

I think this book wasn't that "unfinished" as the previous readers wrote, but that is probably because I read the first part ( Pomegranate Soup ) only a couple of days earlier - so in whole it was pretty logical. But somehow I would have liked the writer to "go deeper" with her characters, this was pretty light after all. Still I enjoyed it and now I am sending it to Annimanni, as promised.

Received with thanks :) I read Pomegranate Soup a few years back and rather enjoyed it. Hope I'll like this one too!

I read the first book nine years ago and had forgotten most of the story, but that didn't bother me much. The setting is lovely, many of the characters anything but, and the themes quite topical. Fluffy summer reading despite the dark undertones.
