Found this book at the base of a sheep statue in the tiny town of Waikari on our 3rd day of holidays in New Zealand in Feb 09. Charlotte Gray (the book) is now here in Perth, Western Australia.

My husband and I were adventure holidaying in NZ for 3 weeks and were so busy making the most of the delights in NZ that I had no time to read a book, until `mother nature' stepped in.............. We had 4 days left of our holiday when we left the town of Dunedin in the pouring rain. When we arrived at our camp spot for the night, little did we realise that we would become trapped by unprecedented sudden flood-waters for 3 days & 3 nights in the non-stop rain with 8 other overseas tourists. We could not communicate with the outside world and could not get out, therefore were forced to `stop', which of course became the perfect time for me to start reading my new `bookcrossing' pickup. Anyway....... eventually we were all rescued and actually ended up on the front page of the Otago Daily newspaper.

With even more centainty, now I know that there is no better companion on a raining day (and night) than that of a good book; and Charlotte Gray shall always hold some very `unique' holiday memories for me.

As all recreational reading came to an abrupt halt when it was back to the reality of work and study, I have not quite finished the book but I am enjoying it as it has an easy storytelling style and it's content of a World War II English heroin is a complete change in subject matter for me.

I was really surprised and delighted to find the book and I marvel at the whole `bookcrossing' concept. I look forward to following the travels & adventures of Charlotte Gray when I one day release her back into the world.

Thank you FutureCat for your release and may you enjoy many future bookcrossing adventures.

Kind regards
2eyesWA, Australia ;-)
