We all need to know where we come from, where we belong. But for David and Nathalie, this need to know is more urgent than for most people because thea are adopted. Brought up by the same adoptive partents, but born to different mothers, they have grown up, fiercely loyal to one another, as brother and sister. Their decision, in their late thirties, to ambark upon the journey to find their birth mothers is no straightforward matter.

Journal Entry 2 by SabinaLorenz from Wien Bezirk 19 - Döbling, Wien Austria on Monday, August 31, 2009
The idea for the plot was a really interesting and improtant one, however the story gets rather lengthy and boring. The actual search for the mothers (Natalie's and David's) was not described at all, and some of the reactions on the mothers' and children' side was strange.
If I didn't know my mother and found her finally I do not think, that anyone would judge her as too small and insecure to be a mother. Does size and behavior really matter?

Initial reason for seaching for the mothers was that Polly needed a surgery and Natalie wanted to know, whether the additional/misformed cartillage was something hereditcal. This question never was answered - even after the mothers were found.
Also the fling between Stephen and Sasha was sgtrage - I do not beliove, that this was necessary and important for the plot - maybe only for the author to write enough pages...
