I don't typically read romance novels, and probably would not have picked this one up if I had known. But. That being said, it was kind of nice. Oh, it was predictable and followed the "romance" formula of an unlikely match made against all odds. But the main character was likeable and the writing was crisp, light and entertaining. It was a perfect book for a long airplane ride, which is where I read it in its entirety.
I do have to make a personal comment on one thing. The "conflict" in this story was that the man would not say the three magic words, "I love you." Even though all of his actions were loving. He was clearly happy with her, liked her and was generous and kind and loving to her. I don't "get" how some people get hung up on SAYING I love you. Love isn't about what you say to someone. It is about how you treat someone. He was treating her like he loved her and she was being stubborn and blind and perhaps even selfish by not accepting his love until he could "say it". I see that happen in "real life" relationships too. It bugs me. Love is about actions, not words.

Gave this one to my niece.
