Journal Entry 1 by bindibooks from State College, Pennsylvania USA on Sunday, January 11, 2009
I read this book a few years ago and thought it was okay. It's an intriguing story, but I don't intend to read it again. Time to pass the literary love onto someone else!

Journal Entry 6 by Bookworm-lady from Madrid, Madrid Spain on Monday, May 18, 2009

Well, I have finally finished reading this book. I must confess it took me a while to get into it; at the beginning, I was tempted to give up, as I had trouble differentiating present and past characters. If this happens to you, follow my advice: don't give up, and give this story a chance. It gets better, as the pace of the story gets faster... Having said this, it is a very well written novel, which has its source in the writer's own experiences as a Latin teacher and a young divorced mother (see pic). The plot is well deviced, and keeps you guessing; I didn't see the final twist coming, mind you! Thanks for sharing this one, Bindibooks, and giving me the chance to have a different literary experience. I already have Frenchnicola's address, and the book will soon be on its way to Birmingham. Eva

I just finished this book - it was good enough to keep me reading, but it didn't feel that surprising towards the end. Still, I was keen to keep turning the pages! I'll PM ratwoman who is next on the list now.

Received today safely - and mysteriously! I only mailed my address to Frenchnicola in the early hours of this morning and the book arrived a few hours later....with no stamps on it either! Did you magic it here somehow Frenchnicola?!! I'm most intrigued. Many thanks for sending it and thanks to bindibooks for inviting me on the ring, I'm really looking forward to this as I've been meaning to read it for yonks.

Journal Entry 11 by ratwoman from Birmingham, West Midlands United Kingdom on Wednesday, July 01, 2009
Finally finished reading this! Overall, my feelings on the book are mixed. On the one hand I liked the boarding school setting (I was addicted to boarding school novels as a child/young teenager!) And the lake was a very eerie and almost living presence throughout the novel. On the other hand I felt many of the plot elements were very contrived, and I guessed what or who was behind it all way before the end. This is really unusual for me as normally I have to have things spelt out in black and white before I finally 'get it', so that was a bit disappointing. Still, I'm glad to have read the book at last after such a long time and it certainly kept me engrossed while I was reading it. Off to PM Rrrcaron now. Thanks again for letting me join in!

This was a great but sometimes confusing story. Tragic in so many ways. I had it figured out before the ending, but there were still many twists along the way. Thanks so much for sharing. Sending on to next reader.... Ruth

Journal Entry 18 by JerrilynnL at Denver, Colorado USA on Sunday, June 13, 2010
Arrived safely in Denver. Thanks for sharing! Will read and send on soon. Update 6/26/2010 - I am such a dork. I mooched this title on Bookmooch in January (and just found it today. In fact, it was when I realized I had mooched another book ... twice. I need to register my books on Bookcrossing AS SOON AS I GET THEM, so I quit doing this. Or take a really long vacation ...). So bindibooks, I'll PM you - I think it goes back to you?
