Not Heinlein's best work, but has some good parts. About a survival test gone horribly wrong, in which a group of students are dropped off on an unknown planet for a ten-day test of their ability to survive. When they aren't picked up on time, they realize something is wrong, and band together to found their own society and stay alive. More upbeat than Lord of the Flies.

Thanks phantomreader42! Also thanks Cliff1976 (phantomreader42 found my wish on his site)

I've been a fan of Heinlein for some time, but haven't happened to read this one. I can't wait!

Finished it a couple days ago. An enjoyable story & quick to read. Interesting ideas about basic survival and survival of society. Makes you wonder what skills or knowledge you could contribute if stranded away from civilization.

Thanks for sending it this way!

After having this one on my TBR list forever, I finally finished it yesterday. After a slow start, I really got caught up in the story. I was really rooting for Rod and his group to make it. Kind of a surprise ending, although of course I knew it was coming. Thanks for the chance to read it.
