This book is now off to Athens. Enjoy!
I've read the first few stories here, and they're more than readable, even if a bit repetitive. Despite the 'ick' factor in much of the "Penny Birch" books, the author(s) writes with skill. I have faulted some of the other "Penny Birch" books for repetitiveness; there are specific words & phrases "she" uses with regularity. I found it irritating to read over and over again about 'rude' thoughts/acts, most of the female characters 'nodding dumbly' in submission, and that every other climax is a 'glorious' experience, etc.
Granted, though, the narrative voices are in character and the quality of the writing is unvaryingly meticuous with attention to detail. Also, the various first-person narrative voices have the uncanny ability to report concurrently on what's going on in their mind, as well as with their body. That kind of multilayering places the "Penny Birch" pieces a cut above other writers of erotica/smut.
I guess "Penny Birch" is to be commended for being prolific, for "her" ability to churn out story after story. The theme & plot, though, are by now predictably uniform.
I may be constant & predictable in my personal life (aren't most of us?) but in my reading, I prefer variety.
Because of the repetitive theme (girls getting spanked just for the sake of it, and all sorts of additional unmerited humiliations) I'm finding it hard to keep up with all the female characters; by now it's not easy to distinguish who's who, who's where, etc. I've already read about "Chloe" in another Penny Birch book, but which one that, who was she, and what was done to her, or how? Truly, I can't remember. All these women fade into one another so easily. Is "Chloe" any different from "Penny" or "Natasha" or "Amber", and so on?
Back to the 'ick' factor. I didn't care so much for all the mucking about in the previous books. Here's a story (the one with Mrs. B.S.) I managed to read without flinching, one that I found 'fun' as well as 'funny'. But to be truthful, there's nothing new or original about it - comparing it to the previous stories by Penny Birch. So, the question is, did this story stand out in my mind because Mrs. B. S. is a 'new' character, one I haven't read about already in the previous "Penny Birch" books, and I was excited to be reading about a 'fresh' face/character? Or am I beginning to not mind the 'icky' scenes anymore?

Another journey into the very naughty mind of Penny Birch! I actually enjoyed this collection rather more than the others - yes, they get a bit repetitive after a while, but there was more hear to smile about rather than be sick about! Or maybe I'm becoming number to the 'ick' factor soon. I can't remember the title, but my favourite was the story about the king choosing a bride from four 'seasonal' options!
This will travel on soon.

Hehehe I think we are all getting a bit numb when it comes to the ick factor in her books.
Like the others I felt there is always the same thing going on and it just gets tiring after a while. I don´t think I will ever become Penny´s biggest fan!!
Due to a very busy week ahead, I´m not able to mail the book to the next reader until on Nov. 20th, sorry about that!!
