Happy Birthday Suprise for my BC Buddy

What a great Birthday - they arrived right on the very day!!!!!!!

Thank you so much ColoBlu6! What a wonderful surprise to come home to. A huge mail package full of books from my wishlist. And not one of them have I seen in my used bookstore travels. You must have a great place out there in "Nan's". Many, many thanks again for the goodies...I've got a lot of reading to do.

What a pleasant summer read. I truly enjoy epistolary novels and this one with its emphasis on botany of Yellowstone National Park at the turn of the 19th Century was right up my alley. The quirky characters were interesting and fun to follow throughout their adventurous summer. While being a light read with beautiful descriptions of the landscape, it touched on this country's outrageous view of the Native Americans, women's struggles of the time and more. I will search for another BookCrosser who may like to read it. I wish our trip to Yellowstone this summer had not been eliminated due to the market crash...I'd love to have read it and released it there. Maybe next summer :-)

PS. Again, special thanks to my friend ColoBlu6 for all of the beautiful books she's sent me as a Birthday Buddy. I truly appreciate her kindness and fun!
