Gifted: A Novel

'Gifted' is about Rumika Vasi and her family, living in Wales. Her parents are recent immigrants from India. Rumi, as she is known, is at least doubly different - labelled as 'gifted' in mathematics at school and at home; sometimes labelled as 'coloured' outside her home. The fact that she's a girl also plays an important part in her story, but her role as the sister of a boy seems to mean little, but then this is a deceptively 'easy' read, I feel.
