...tempted to rate the book before reading it and see how accurate my intuitions are....no, that's wrong...must approach this with an open mind....I honestly want to like graphic novels...but over and over they have disappointed me with an adolescent focus on the misery of the world and flat characters and violent and mean spirited plots....I will try to put these thoughts out of my mind and give this book a fresh try....Whatever the outcome, I'll bring this back to Dan at the next MeetUp....
Slowly, I seem to be getting into graphic novels. The violence and in-your-face quality that initially put me off this genre seem to be less important. The more I read of the The Sandman, the more I am liking the series. Who said familiarity breeds contempt?!
I know very little about graphic novels but have head of the Sandman series. I'll give it a try. Looks interesting.
This is an interesting story or should I say several interrelated stories in one volume. Overall I liked the book. There were a couple of incidents/characters I wondered why they were included since they didn't really seem to be related to the rest of the story.
I've had this before, but, for some reason, I ended up bringing it home again. I'm tempted to read this again.
