Thank you DoveiLibri, for this little book that arrived safely today. I haven't read any Dickens for awhile so this will be a pleasant change.

I have seen this story in movie form ,many times on TV but I don't believe that I have ever read the book. It is amusing that the word Scrooge is used as an expression of a cheap and miserly person to this day.
Dickens did well for himself for someone who went to work at the age of twelve.

Thank you very much. This is one of the great classics. In fact, it's not a proper Christmas for me if I haven't watch the movie version with 'The Muppet Show'.

This is the perfect Christmas story. I've just watched the Muppetshow's movie version and had problems with picturing the Cratchits as humans instead of frogs and pigs.

DitteL included this with a ray book as an extra surprise. A Christmas Carol is one of my favourites of Dickens' works, one of the first I was introduced to and I've enjoyed the story in many adaptations since. I also love having relatively small books at hand for the somewhat more expensive destinations (postage wise) so this will certainly be put to good use. Thanks DitteL!
