Barbed Wire & Babushkas: A River Odyssey Across Siberia

Bought off www.play.com to read in Portugal.
Amusing account of a canoe trip down the Amur River. Starting in Mongolia, the river sometimes forms part of the border with China, so there are many border posts and guards to deal with. I'm not sure whether either Paul or Rich really knew what they were getting into! As with a lot of travel books, what interested me most was the interaction with the locals. The Random Acts of Kindness in this book are many, from gifts of milk or freshly made pancakes to help with accommodation.
