This is the second copy I'm registering (after posting it off on a ring -I probably couldn't have done this any more backwards if I'd been trying), as the first one hasn't been given a journal entry or sent on.

This book was waiting for me when I returned from my vacation yesterday. I'll read it soon and send it on to midwestgal.

Thanks so much Hero for letting us read your second copy. You are a true bookcrosser to be so goodhearted with your books.

Journal Entry 4 by RealBookWorm on Wednesday, May 28, 2003
This is a quick little book to read and very enjoyable for me. I liked the story and I've always liked books written as diaries or as letters back and forth between people so the style helped my enjoyment for sure as well.

I'm putting this in the mail to midwestgal tomorrow. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Thanks again Hero!

I actually got it in the mail June 1st.

Journal Entry 7 by ladydarke from Kitchener, Ontario Canada on Sunday, October 5, 2003
This book was loaned to me by a friend.

I enjoyed in immensely; it's hard to believe that the whole thing could have resulted from a game of passing letters! With editing afterward, to be sure, but still.... The authors include a lovely little explanation at the end of how the book came to be, which is worth reading on its own.

A very, very delightful story!

Journal Entry 9 by mfa from Lisboa - City, Lisboa (cidade) Portugal on Saturday, April 17, 2004
what a delightful little book! although i have my doubts about epistolary novels as a genre, the charm of this plot and characters made me forget about literary theory for a while.
i couldn't help thinking rowlings must have read this at some time, or is it just harry potter taking hold of every idea of magic in literature i have in my brain?
the way magic was dealt with as a matter of fact issue in society, and the lively girls with their witty champions made me, for once, glad about a soap opera ending, where everybody gets married...
it was worth all the waiting! thanks everybody, for sharing this book.

Received this book from mfa last Friday ... thanks so much Hero for letting me read this :-)
I started reading the book while travelling on the subway yesterday, and of course I couldn't stop ;-) I loved this fantasy/romance story, and laughed my way through it, especially when Kate talks about her "odious Marquis". And now I'm off to amazon or to ebay and see if I can get my own copy :-)

Will be mailed to Shelbycat as soon as I get her address.

Journal Entry 12 by Shelbycat from Llanelli, Wales United Kingdom on Wednesday, June 9, 2004
A fabulous book! I really liked the whole idea through which the whole story came about (the letter game). I enjoyed this book so much i've put pretty much everything else by these two authors on my Amazon wishlist (to jog my memory when i have some spare book money).
Right, now all i need to do is get katayoun's address and this will be posted off :)
Thanks for sharing Hero as usual you have impeccable book choice :)

it's here and thanks! i found my own copy in a trade and read it a week ago, but really it's all due to this ring and hero starting it that i found about this book and may i say that it was just GREAT!! thanks hero, i really loved it and definitely my cup of tea :) a mixture of heyer and wynne jones, i think or probably stevermere and wrede (though haven't read any wrede, yet have read stevermere's college of magics - that's all due to hero also) and i'm putting stevermere on my list of favorite authors.
the way the book was written was quite fun and it made everything more real.. just a lovely book and now it's ready to go back home
p.s. and Shelbycat thanks for the lovely card and the recipe. it looks delicious and the fact that the fruit is soaked in tea is very strange and sounds pretty good, i'm going to try this!
