Given to me for my birthday by a lovely work colleague. She knew I was travelling to South Africa in August, and wanted me to read a little about Africa before I went. Alas, the book got buried in Mount TBR, and resurfaced after a bit of a clear out.
I tried valiantly with this, but gave up after Chapter 2, skimming the rest. I am sure that this will appeal to somebody, but I found it a little dry.

Passed on to me by my Mum to send to my NSS partner.
She hopes that they will enjoy it more than she did!!

Thanks for this, I have been wanting to read it for ages. Merry Christmas!
I really did get into this book, helped by having an afternoon off to read in the shade. I thought this was an interesting read, especially as this is a country I know so little of. It is amazing that we do know so little, that so many people have died, yet it hasn't really be on our radar.
