Journal Entry 1 by efou from Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki Greece on Wednesday, December 10, 2008
I'm ashamed to admit that I never managed to read more than 3 pages of this book...so it is that the only thing I have managed to read by Poe, is the poem "The Raven" which I like very much... I hope whoever will find this book to enjoy it!

Journal Entry 3 by LeishaCamden from Alna bydel, Oslo fylke Norway on Sunday, December 21, 2008
I got this book along with a stack of others from efou and quino-salonika when I met up with them for a cup of hot chocolate last night. It was great to meet you guys - thanks for all the books! I will definitely read this, and then pass it on - I'm a fan of Poe (especially his poems, and The Raven is my favorite ;-) but I haven't read too many of his short stories, and in fact I haven't read the title story of this book. So thank you, I will definitely read it, and then, who knows ... ? :-) Thanks again, it was great to meet you! :-)

Journal Entry 4 by LeishaCamden from Alna bydel, Oslo fylke Norway on Sunday, January 18, 2009
I read this book today. What can I say? :-) It's Poe, so obviously it's brilliant. :-) The book contains four stories: The Murders in the Rue Morgue, Ligeia, The Cask of Amontillado and The Masque of the Red Death. Four rather different stories. The first is a straightforward - or at least as straightforward as anything ever gets with Poe! - murder mystery. The story that created the genre, in fact. The last would probably be called either horror or dark fantasy today. The two in the middle are both Gothic horror stories - Ligeia perhaps the most so. All of them wonderfully written, intriguingly plotted and just ... ingenious. :-) Thanks for sharing, efou. This book will be released tomorrow as my small part in celebrating the 200th anniversary of Poe's birth. (He was born on January 19th, 1809. :-)
