Successful Internet entrepreneur Ryan Perry is 34 years old, happy and seemingly healthy and with a woman that he loves. Then he finds that he has been stricken with a deadly heart disease and must undergo a transplant within a year if he wants to live. The operation is successful, but on the one-year anniversary of the surgery, he begins to get creepy gifts with little messages. "Your heart belongs to me. I want it back."

Heart is not a horror story. Instead, it's a thriller/medical mystery/love story with a bit of the potentially supernatural woven throughout. I found the first three quarters of the book to be just so-so, something to do when boredom looms. Toward the end, though, it becomes a real page-turner.
