From the Back Cover Three best friends. Two resolutions. One year to pull it off. Emmy is newly single. Having always dreamed of wedding plans, she is now buying take-out for one. Adriana is about to turn thirty. Are her days as a party girl running out? Leigh has a gorgeous boyfriend and a great job. So why isn't she more excited about her perfect life? The three best friends make a pact over raspberry mojitos one night - this year everything is going to change. Emmy is going to find a man on every continent for some no-strings fun. Adriana vows she'll secure a five-carat Harry Winston diamond ring on her fourth finger. And Leigh can't think of what she needs to change - until literary bad boy Jesse Chapman starts to get under her skin. Bought this at Stansted Airport. What a disappointment.

This was a very disappointing read. The characters lacked depth, the story line was thin, and well - I guess it really wasn't my kind of book. Shame really as I liked the Devil wears Prada There was one interesting aspect to the novel - the role of a literary agent, and I did laugh at the refererence to her reading Something Blue (which I read recently and loved!) - but otherwise this was dull reading and a sad picture of the supposedly glamorous life in New York.

Wow, a surprise for me! Thanks seethroughfaith, it was nice to meet you at Jumbo! I like these books cover, even though I don't wear highheels myself. I haven't read The Devil Wears Prada or nothing else by the author so I have nothing to compare this. Maybe I'll like it, let's see!

3 weeks ago I participated alejandas What to read next- challenge and my hit was this. It took me ages to finish the book once I started to read it. I had to read something else at the same time and it was actually three books I finished while struggling with this one. Such a small text! Ok it wasn't that bad. Not as bad though as I would have expected it to be. Lack of knowledge about NY elite made me search Harry Winston using Google. Looked like a big rocks to me ;) But my happiness comes from different things, I don't need diamonds to be something or someone. That is why I was happy to find this sentence in the book: She would happily forsake all the diamonds in the world if she could just find the one person who was meant for her Thanks stf for this reading experience! I'll let the book travel. **Edit 14.4: Reserved for Elina.

I have to say that I too was disappointed with the book. I liked the Devil Wears Prada, but all other books I've read by Lauren Weisberger have been not that good. Now I have Last Night at Chateau Marmont on my tbr pile, but I'm not sure whether to bother with it or not.
