The Ruins follows two American couples enjoying a pleasant, lazy beach holiday together in Mexico. On an impulse, they go off with newfound friends in search of one of their group—the young German, who, in pursuit of a girl, has headed for the remote Mayan ruins, site of a fabled archeological dig.

This book really freaked me out, nothing like a killer plant! This book was almost like the movie, it was very detailed, and long but I read it in a few short days, because i couldn't put it down. it was a little gory, and horrifying, but most horror novels are. I would highly reccomend this book. I think next month i may put it up for another bookring, or ray? Undecided. otherwise awesome book, and right up my genere.
