From inside flap: "Paulo Coelho's enchanting novel has inspired a devoted following around the world. This story, dazzling in its powerful simplicity and inspiring wisdom, is about an Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago who travels from his homeland in Spain to the Egyptian desert in search of a treasure buried in the Pyramids. Along the way he meets a Gypsy woman, a man who calls himself king, and an alchemist, all of whom point Santiago in the direction of his quest. No one knows what the treasure is, or if Santiago will be able to surmount the obstacles along the way. But what starts out as a journey to find worldly goods turns into a discovery of the treasure found within. Lush, evocative, and deeply humane, the story of Santiago is an eternal testament to the transforming power of our dreams and the importance of listening to our hearts."

This was indeed a powerful book. Such a grad parable told so simply. As I've been pondering a lot of the big decisions in life lately, I took the message to heart.

I'm mailing this book to hobbit for the December RMTBRBB exchange. Enjoy!

This book has not been rated.

This arrived with perfect timing on December 1 when I'm allowed to open my RMTBRBB packages. Although I just received a copy of it in the Autumn Sweepstakes and have read it already, I know exactly what to do with a second copy! In fact, I think it's Serendipity.

I was just discussing this book with a friend last night at a bar and she was saying that she's been wanting to read it. She's recently tried to start a book club with little success (Jane Austen theme), and we thought that we might have better luck starting one by choosing books like this which are fairly short and easy to read but have a powerful message. So I'll pass one copy to her and keep the other myself. If it turns out that she's got a copy, I'll save it for the book club.

So thanks, rootmartin, for this wonderful gift. :D
