Bought this today during a spree at Tuesday Morning; will listen to soon.
I've got to say this is unlike anything else I've ever been exposed to before! The story held my attention completely all the way through, and really made me think - the style of using two narrators voices (perfectly logical in this case) to give different perspectives was a very good idea.

from batty's box- I chose this one because I've read a couple novelizations of the life of Chang and Eng, the original Siamese twins, and am curious to hear a story about female conjoined twins.
Thanks for sharing!

Haven't been listening to audio books lately with the new baby in the house, so I'm going to let this one keep travelling. Going into booklady331's box

I neglected to journal these books from the CD bookbox! Thanks for sharing!
I loved this book! It was very touching.
This was a touching story. I am glad I was able to listen to it. Thanks for sharing.
I was just getting this book ready for release...and I realized I had not listened to it yet! This is a very touching and moving story about two craniopagus twins. I believe the author did a wonderful job of describing the wealth and beauty of two lives well lived. These girls and their adoptive parents created a life of love and despite their limitations, they seemed to have a full life. This book is filled with messages of hope and resilience.
I think the author created an amazing and thoughtful story. I am glad I had the chance to listen to this book.

This book is on its way to iwillrejoice as part of her audiobook VBB. Happy Travels!
I really enjoyed this story. I found it compelling & readable &, altho it's fiction, it seemed very believable & made one think. I'm glad to have had the chance to read it.
This is now reserved for my Audiobook VBB. Thanks for sharing!

Released to Moody-Blue in North Carolina as one of her selections from my Audiobook VBB. Happy travels, little book!
Thank you, all. Looking forward to it!
Interesting... and I liked that I didn't know where it was going. Strangely though, I was disappointed in the end, but I don't have any idea how else it could have ended.
Offered up in iwillrejoice's audiobook VBB, chosen and off on a new adventure.
Yippee, I received this in the mail this afternoon! Thank you for sending this audiobook my way. :-)
I just finished listening to The Girls and enjoyed it! I thought both Stephanie Zimbalist and Lolita Davidovich gave an excellent dramatic reading. I also liked that this novel was told through the view points of both Rose and Ruby.
At times, I found myself forgetting that I was listening to a novel and not a real memoir!
Some scenes in this novel were painfully sad to, like their interest in Frankie and his blatant disregard for them... Kissing Ruby, but taking Rose's virginity. That whole scene and its outcome left me feeling sad.
The ending of this novel was expected.
I also wrote a review of The Girls on my blog. The see as follows:

A very special book. I liked it, but some parts are ringing hollow: the birth of the childs, the pragnancy, ... but on the whole a very interesting reading.
