RED EARTH, WHITE LIES is a very funny book.

Vine Deloria asks pointed questions, suddenly so absurd that you have to laugh out loud. He makes you rethink question such as why the scientific establishment thinks that people came to America over the land bridge, and how the CroMagnons came from the West when scientists have no evidence that they came from America. (From Atlantis, perhaps?)

When you have read the whole book you have to realize that we don't really know anything, and we have lost the sources -- by killing off the Native Americans -- of the answers. Yet we don't really feel guilty. Amazing!
