5 out of 10

The Famous Five #14.

The Famous Five are Julian, Dick, George (really Georgina), Anne, and Timmy the dog.

Together again for the last three weeks of their summer holiday, the Famous Five have an American scientist's daughter thrust upon them while her father works with Uncle Quentin on a secret scheme. Berta herself is tiresome at first, but squabbles are forgotten in the rush of events, which end with Dick and Julian following a trail which leads them to an old house—and pandemonium!

One of several books by Enid Blyton that I picked up from the Oxfam Shop in Winchester a couple of years ago. Now I'm passing them along to a fellow BookCrosser.

Ha ha I only expect one book, not five!! You can't be ridding your books too quickly and dumping your problem on others, you know.

I am really happy to get these books. It has been many years since I've read them. I've tried looking for them in new and used bookstores and libraries in the U.S. but Blyton is practically unknown here. A bit hard to imagine. I remember them to be bigger and longer reads, but I guess it's just like a grown person finding adults he met as a kid have "shrank".

Thank you so much for your generosity!!
