During World War II, Hungary was a place of fear and danger. But deep inside a cave on the outskirts of Budapest, a boy named Laci encountered a terror unlike anything on the surface: the demon Bélusz, plotting his own crusade of destruction, as the magical ties that caged him grew weaker. Bélusz marked Laci for death, but using gypsy magic taught to him by his grandmother, Laci escaped with his life, reversing the spell and binding the demon's death back to himself.

Now an old man living in Arizona, Laci is beginning to show signs of dementia. A little later than I hoped but I did finish it this past week and I enjoyed it. I loved reading the descriptions of Budapest because it reminded me of the week I spent there. Such a beautiful city!

The story was very interesting. It was really nice to learn some of the Hungarian mythology. :)
