I loved this book!!! It made me laugh the whole way through, and I had to explain a couple of times the reason for laughing out loud. They didn't get it.
I did, however, almost cry during the chapter when he described his pets. Very, very sad.

I'll be passing this on sometime this week, hopefully by Friday. I'm very busy with work lately, so hopefully I'll have time then!

Sorry guys, Me Talk Pretty One Day seems to have gotten stuck with me.
I have it all packaged up and it's ready to be sent out now. I'll be sending it this weekend, sometime when I'm not working.
Thank god school's over next Friday, then I'll have more time to Bookcross!

Journal Entry 6 by mngirl from Saint Paul, Minnesota USA on Wednesday, June 25, 2003
Just received in the mail today. Since I just finished another bookray book over the weekend, I'll start this one immediately.

Journal Entry 7 by mngirl from Saint Paul, Minnesota USA on Friday, June 27, 2003
I'm sorry to say I have nothing good to say about this book other than it ended. I didn't laugh, or chuckle, or even smile once. Usually I would have given up on it by the time I was half thru it, but decided to press on thinking somewhere, somehow, I would find my efforts rewarded. I was sadly mistaken. I REALLY wanted to enjoy this book.

Will be forwarding to savannahblue. (Both Seferim and Kafka have gotten a hold of another copy of the book) I hope you enjoy it!

Mailed via media mail on June 28th.

just rec'd this by mail today - will read asap, and then send it on to the next reader. thanks!

Journal Entry 9 by savannahblue from Portland, Oregon USA on Monday, July 14, 2003
well, unfortunately this wasn't (for me) the laughfest i had hoped for! though well written, and sometimes very funny, imostly found it to be a little sad. so taking a cue from mngirl, i cut my losses and quit about halfway through - so many other books in the house calling to me.

sending it on to mom-of-one - hope it finds a more responsive audience!

Released on Monday, July 14, 2003 at US mail, to fellow bookcrosser in Lake Oswego, Oregon USA.

happy bastille day! freeing this book to travel on to mom-of-one, next in the ray (ring?).

Journal Entry 11 by Mom-of-one from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA on Friday, July 25, 2003
Got this in the mail today! Yeay! I can't wait to read it. Unfortunately I have two other bookray books ahead of it! I've been experienceing an avalanche of bookrays lately! Not to worry, though! I'm a fast reader! Thanks for including me!

Wow! This book was hilarious! After reading the first few chapters, I didnt think I would enjoy this book and actually thought seriously about just putting it down. Thank God I didnt! I laughed out loud several times as the book progressed, especially in the chapter titled "Big Boy." A very similar situation occured to me at a party, and I reacted surprisingly similar to Mr. Sedaris when confronted with my "big boy" (although technically-it was'nt "mine" at all).
Anyhow, I loved this book and now want to run out and buy everything he's ever written!

Released on Friday, August 22, 2003 at bookring in Butler, Pennsylvania USA.

Sending to hawkette in Australia!

Journal Entry 14 by Hawkette from Sydney CBD, New South Wales Australia on Monday, November 17, 2003
It has made it! Although only just, but the rather lengthy tear in one of the edges of the parcel. I managed to slide the book out of this gape with minimum effort, so I dear say any longer in the mysteries of the between-countries postal system, this book may have really been in the wild!
Have been looking forward to this book!

Journal Entry 15 by Hawkette from Sydney CBD, New South Wales Australia on Saturday, December 13, 2003
A rare hangover-free Saturday was consumed by this book - and I was once again greatful for living on my own at the moment so as I didn't have to try and explain my frequent laugh-out-loud moments, often only sentences apart!!
A commentary of everyday observations and taking-the-piss out of himself and family, and fellow countrymen, was very funny!
I will now be looking for more work of the author they call David.
(Wasn't quite as clever as the young David, to avoid s's all the way through the entry!!)

Journal Entry 16 by 16stepper from Gilbert, Arizona USA on Tuesday, December 23, 2003
Me Talk Pretty One Day has arrived in Gilbert! Adding to my stack of bookrays to read - very much looking forward to this one!

The first part of this book seemed to read very slowly, probably because I had broken my glasses and was wearing a pair with a 3 year old prescription. Finally got in to see the eye doc, who noted that I shouldn't have even been able to see out of the glasses I was using much less read. Finally got a pair that matches my current eyeballs, and lo and behold, I flew through this book, laughing all the way. His description of his first French teacher and his struggles with the gender of everyday objects was my favorite part. I love how he made up little stories about each thing to help him remember the gender. I will be shipping out as soon as I have the next address. Thanks for sharing this, salemhouse! I know it got mixed reviews here, but I thought it was a gem!

I finihsed this a couple of weeks ago. I liked it but had hoped to loved it, although I do admit to being somewhat distracted by life while reading it. I've pm'd wickedwordz but haven't yet heard back. Since this is the end of the bookray line, I'll check wishlists and send it on.

Journal Entry 20 by Ilios from Tampa, Florida USA on Friday, January 21, 2005
Just got this book today, but I don't see my name on the ray list... So this must be the work of a kind bookcrosser! Thanks for sharing this with me! :o) I am looking forward to reading this book. I have a few rays/rings in front of it, so it might take me a while to get to it, but I'll make periodic updates.
