(blurb) Hidden in the heart of the old city of Barcelona is The Cemetery of Books, a labyrinthine library of obscure & forgotten titles.
To this library, a man brings his 10-year-old son Daniel, one cold morning in 1945. Daniel is allowed to choose one book & from the dusty shelves pulls The Shadow of the Wind by Julian Carax. But as Daniel grows up, several people seem inordinately interested in his find. What begins as a case of literary curiosity turns into a race to find out the truth behind the life & death of Julian Carax & to save those he left behind.

This is a second copy I bought for RABCKing. Here's what I thought when I originally read it ....
What an incredibly good book! I had no idea what to expect from this book -I didn't even know what the storyline was about before I receieved it!
When I joined bookcrossing I asked for some suggestions to "widen my literary horizons" & this book was recommended by avanta7 & buffra . Thanks so much to both of you as without your suggestions I would never had thought of picking this book up!
