Bought at Friends of Library sale ... this was recommended by a friend who knew how much I'd liked the Twilight series.
Anita Blake is an animator (makes zombies) and a vampire hunter. The master of the city of St Louis wants her to find out who has been killing vampires. This is the first book in the Anita Blake series. It takes about 100 pages to really get into the story but it is good. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
I had reserved this as a RABCK for nuyear1975, but she has not replied with her address so I will make available again.

I LOVE Anita Blake -- I read this one long ago, and have a bookclub collection edition. I may read this one again, or it may just get released to suck more people into Anita's world.
Finished this last night, and it made me realize how much I miss the old Anita. I may have to make time to re-read all the old stories. I also had a revelation -- I am thinking one of the reasons so many people have not liked the newer books, is because there is no "us" in the story. In the early stories, Anita was us...a little special, but still got scared, and got hurt, and had feelings for people she just met -- she was someone you could relate to...but now?? too much the monster.
