Reeve gets a phone call from California telling him that his brother, a freelance investigative reporter, is dead. The police report James's untimely demise as a suicide. But Reeve has a sixth sense that kicks in and he knows that this isn't true. He flies to southern California and as soon as he hits the tarmac he picks up a tail. Why? Who would want to follow him in the United States? Only someone who is somehow involved with James and possibly with his death.

Gordon Reeve is ex SAS. When his brother dies in suspicious circumstances Gordon does everything he can to find out why. His past unexpectedly catches up with him and he finds his SAS skills have to be utilised time and time again. Great thriller, first time I have read Ian Rankin writing as Jack Harvey. I love the Rebus stories and now look forward to reading more of his other novels in the future. Reserved for mum in law and then it will go in either a Thriller bookbox or be released in the wild.
