Picked up from the Salvo's for bookcrossing.com release.
When I read this book in the late '80s I loved it. Really loved it. The follow-up 'Tandia' was excellent also, as was his personal story about his son and AIDS "April Fool's Day". Courtenay's later books have not been as good in my opinion, I know others really love him.

A wonderful surprise in my letterbox! I've been wanting to read this for ages so it was fantastic to receive it. Thank you so much!
I really enjoyed this book. I found myself reading it late into the night when I should have been sleeping.
It was a well written and powerful book and the main character was an amazing individual. The things he experienced and the ways he dealt with them were fascinating and very thought provoking.

I left this on a table in the cinema before going in to see Slumdog Millionaire - a great movie. I propped the book next to a brochure for "The Reader" - opening here on the 19th.

Just found this novel while going through new (more like old) stock that came through our new Vinnies store yesterday! The BookCrossing sticker on the cover caught my eye and the large information sticker behind the cover revealed all! I didn't even know such a thing existed!
Had a look online to see this novel's travelling history; looks like it's been from Melbourne to Canberra and back again! And now it's waiting to be sold right here at Vinnies for just $2!
The journey continues!
