Taken in by an eccentric trio of black beekeeping sisters, Lily is introduced to their mesmerizing world of bees and honey, and the Black Madonna. This is a remarkable novel about divine female power, a story that women will share and pass on to their daughters for years to come.

A copy of this book in audio format came through me to my father, one half of bookcrosser sunsetb, a while ago. I didn't get a chance to read it then. However, my dad LIKED it, so I figured I really ought to give this a go-through! This particular copy is the second I've bought of this book, but this one is going to SimplyCee from bookobsessed.com -- I hope she gets the chance to read it before the movie comes out!

7/15 update - Took this to a BC meet tonight w/ Elis-fromSweden and her mom, at La Madelaine in Bethesda. I see she's already caught it. Enjoy!

I'm reading right now this wonderful book that I found in the United States. I rate it now but have a few pages left to read. You write that it is filmed well, I think it would suit me to see the movie. I'll look for it.

What a wonderful story! I loved it! Perfect for hot summer days between swimming and playing with the kids. I havn't decíded where to send the book next so it stays a while with me.
