Amazon Editorial Review:
Across America a mysterious disease is turning ordinary people into raving, paranoid murderers who inflict brutal horrors on strangers, themselves, and even their own families.

Working under the government’s shroud of secrecy, CIA operative Dew Phillips crisscrosses the country trying in vain to capture a live victim. With only decomposing corpses for clues, CDC epidemiologist Margaret Montoya races to analyze the science behind this deadly contagion. She discovers that these killers all have one thing in common – they’ve been contaminated by a bioengineered parasite, shaped by a complexity far beyond the limits of known science.

Meanwhile Perry Dawsey – a hulking former football star now resigned to life as a cubicle-bound desk jockey – awakens one morning to find several mysterious welts growing on his body. Soon Perry finds himself acting and thinking strangely, hearing voices . . . he is infected.

The fate of the human race may well depend on the bloody war Perry must wage with his own body, because the parasites want something from him, something that goes beyond mere murder.

Infected is the first major print release from Internet phenom Scott Sigler, whose podcast-only audiobooks have drawn an immense cult following, with more than three million individual episodes downloaded. Now Sigler storms the bookstore shelves with this cinematic, relentlessly paced novel that mixes and matches genres, combining horror, technothriller, and suspense in a heady mix that is equal parts Chuck Palahniuk, Michael Crichton, and Stephen King.
Infected will crawl beneath your skin and leave fresh blood on every page.

Thanks so much for sharing this, Bibliocrates, it will be on it's way to the UK this week!

A contagious Scifi-Horror story that grips the reader from the first pages. Not for the weak stomachs as some of the scenes made me pull faces - eeewww!
Dark humour was injected into the tale which lightens the feel somewhat and without that, I feel the balance could have been wrong for me. The main character Perry, was one hell of a scary fella who I wouldn't have liked to cross under any circumstances never mind with an infection that is slowly driving him insane.

First chance to read any of this author's work, and will now be looking for the next book out by him called Contagious.

I have Bilbi's address in France and will be passing the book on to her on Saturday 14th or Monday 16th March.

Really good, really horrifying. The descriptions were creepy and awful and kept me entertained. I really like what the author did with his subject. I hear there's a sequel and it's definitely going on my list.

I apologize...this book got to me a couple days ago, and I was a slacker and didn't journal right away. :(

It came at a perfect time though...I had just finished another book, and was looking for something new to read when I decided to go check the mail. Whoo Hoo!!

I really liked this story, and yes it helped the pages turning by having short chapters. I will be seeking out more by this author, and perhaps will find his podcast - if only to check it out.

Thanks Biblio for sending out a TBR book, to let us share before you even got the chance to read it :-)

I have kerbam's address and will getting this in the mail ASAP :-)

Received this over the weekend on 8/1/09 and started reading the next evening. Thank you for including me! :)

I finshed this last night - 8/9/09. I really enjoyed the book and would like to read more from this author. Very intense during alot of parts. I scringed quite a few times. I have to say that I felt very itchy while reading this book. ;) If you like this one, you'll probably like The Host by Stephenie Meyer Not as gory, but kind of the same concept. This book is ready to go home as soon as I receive the address. Thanks again for including me! :)

First off, thanks for including me in this ray! I went out in the rain last night to get the mail even though I was sick. I didn't go on the computer last night so that is why I am journaling it now. I will start reading this now and hope to have it done in a week or two at the most. I will journal when I am done and when I am sending it out.
