I've enjoyed several of the other "Ologies" books, with their blends of artwork, facts and legends, puzzles, and framing stories that are often the most fun of all. While this book does have most of those elements, I found that the framing story in this case wasn't as entertaining as in other books, and (unless I missed it, which is entirely possible) I didn't find a big surprise at the end. Still, the illustrations are lovely, and the book itself is a handsome one, and the "samples" of scales, feathers, etc. from various legendary creatures might amuse the kids.
